  • About the Position The Senior Metallurgist is responsible for the management of projects at all levels, and the supervision of Junior and Project Metallurgists in the department.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data and take lead in determining direction of the testing program based upon the results;
  • Collaborate with senior project members and the Technical Services Manager regarding ongoing test programmes;

Requirements

  • Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical or Mineral Processing degree (or equivalent) required
  • 5 to 8 years of laboratory and operations experience in process plants and testwork services
  • Ability to lift filled 20 litre containers (45 lb)
  • Ability to stand for a full shift
  • Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities
  • Participate in safety audits with the site safety officer as required;
  • Represent ALS Metallurgy at trade shows, conferences, mining shows, etc. as required; these events may occur outside regular office hours;

  • Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.

Compensation

  • An estimated annual salary of $95,000 - $105,000 at the time of posting.
