About the role

  • The Logistics Section Chief participates in the development and implementation of the Incident Action Plan (IAP) and activates and supervises the Branches and Units within the Logistics Section.
  • Ensure ESF-7 DMS secures land or buildings through lease, RRF, or MOA for staging areas, forward operating bases, base camps, warehouses, or to replace damaged or destroyed facilities.
  • Coordinate with ESF-11 to project and procure food, water, and ice needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ESF-6 and NGOs to rapidly deploy field kitchens and cantinas.
  • Work with the National Guard to support Logistics Staging Area (LSA) operations.
  • Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
  • Provide service and support for assigned resources.
  • Communicate changes in logistical support to incident resources.
  • Mission of Role/Position Summary: The Logistics Section Chief (LC) is responsible for providing overall management and support to facilities, services, and material in support of the incident.
  • The Logistics Section Chief oversees and directs the activities of the Support Branch, and the Mutual Aid Branch.
  • Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center or disaster response, including at least 2 activations or exercises in a supervisory or key support capacity.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.
  • Experience with financial management applications.
  • Master's degree in Emergency Management or a related field.

Compensation

  • $40k-$55k
