Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will assist in the development of Okane's Rehabilitation and Reclamation group by contributing ideas and supporting efforts to help our clients manage risks related to mine closure in standard and creative ways.
  • Interpreting field observations and technical data to support practical, science-based solutions for our clients.
  • Working collaboratively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to coordinate field activities and support successful project delivery.
  • Taking ownership of your work by identifying issues early, contributing practical ideas, and continuously developing your technical and consulting skills.
  • Rather than simply collecting data, you take the time to understand what it means, recognize when something doesn't look right, and develop practical solutions before seeking direction.
  • Our work challenges the status quo - we advocate for meaningful partnerships with communities, including Indigenous rightsholders, and design solutions that create lasting financial, environmental, and social value.

Requirements

  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, Soil Science, Ecology, Reclamation, or a related discipline.
  • Experience preparing high-quality technical reports, work plans, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing small projects, coordinating field programs, and monitoring project budgets is considered an asset.
  • You enjoy taking projects from planning through completion.
  • You are ready to step into the role of the primary field resource when field programs arise, taking ownership of their planning, coordination, and successful execution.
  • Two or more years of environmental consulting experience, including groundwater monitoring, contaminated site assessment and remediation, site reclamation, vegetation assessments, and related environmental field programs is considered an asset
  • Experience using ArcGIS Pro or QGIS to support environmental mapping and data management is considered an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's licence, with experience safely operating 4×4 pickup trucks and navigating remote resource roads.
  • The ability to travel to project sites across Canada, including remote locations.
  • Eligibility for, or actively working towards, a relevant professional or technical designation (e.g., P.Ag., P.Geo., P.Biol or equivalent.
