About the role

- What we need The Project Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and testing of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)-controlled equipment at customer sites.
- This role involves hands-on work with electrical technicians to bring up control cabinets, load and configure PLC software, and execute tests to verify system functionality and performance.
Responsibilities
- Partner with team leadership to design, benchmark, and standardize commissioning processes from scratch.
- Facilitate weekly training sessions and documentation updates to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers to address and resolve blocking issues.
- Participate in new product development initiatives by attending design reviews, workshops, and cross-functional planning sessions to ensure commissioning requirements, deliverables, documentation, and field support needs are identified and addressed throughout the development process.
- This role collaborates closely with Software, Engineering, and ICS teams to ensure seamless system integration and project execution.
- Their expertise in troubleshooting, calibration, and quality control helps Symbotic deliver efficient and reliable robotic solutions to clients across various industries.
- Demonstrated ability to schedule complex work with dependencies and to drive production.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in either electrical or mechanical engineering, or in automated production management, or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing projects across broad internal stakeholders to execute project scope and timeline.
- Track record of exceeding project deliverables while remaining on time and within budget.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Travel is required up to 75% of the time.
- The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand
- Approximately 75% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
- You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.
Nice to have
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with PLC (Allen Bradley), Robot (ABB, Fanuc), Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP), or Operator interface (Panel View Plus).
- Mechanical Engineer, or an engineer with heavy hands-on mechanical experience, is highly preferred.
Compensation
- The base range for this position in the posted location is $96,000.00 - $132,000.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
