Responsibilities

  • Participate in feasibility studies, site evaluations, and risk assessments to optimize project planning.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, general contractors, and regulatory bodies, to drive project success.
  • Develop best practices for procurement of OFCI equipment for Prologis data centers.
  • Participate in development conceptual project design and construction schedules in P6 for use during the bidding and design phase.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, building codes, and environmental and safety standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in construction, design, or engineering, with a focus on pre-construction and large-scale data center projects.
  • Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing pre-construction activities for complex, high-value projects.
  • Ability to travel, as necessary, to projects
  • Self-motivated and ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal direction.
  • Update schedules weekly and monthly as required.

Nice to have

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong commercial acumen with expertise in cost estimation, procurement strategies, and contract negotiation.

Compensation

  • Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate's location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
  • $123,000 - $169,000.
  • Our 401(k) retirement plan has a company match of 50% up to 12% of eligible compensation.

  • As the Manager Data Center Preconstruction, you be a part of strategic planning and execution of pre-construction activities for a portfolio of data center projects.

  • Engage with procurement team during OFCI vendor bidding process and bid leveling.
  • Implement project controls best practices for all OFCI equipment for Prologis data centers, including tracking and monitoring buyout, submittal review and approval, release for production, and ultimate delivery onsite.
  • Ensure implementation of AutoDesk Construction Cloud platform program wide for PLD Data centers.
  • Participate in general contractor requests for proposals, receive, evaluate, level responses, and conduct general contractor interviews.
  • Review contractor cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement strategies to ensure project success.
  • Participate in the review of project estimate deliverables from conceptual to final GMP.
  • Oversee project buyout by general contractor from GMP to complete buyout.
  • Work closely with supply chain and legal teams to establish efficient contracting structures.
  • Provide project level reporting on project forecasts, risk assessments, and key performance metrics.

  • Experience in data center design and construction process, including greenfields and retrofits.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, building codes, and sustainability standards within the data center industry.
