About the role
- We're rebuilding Slack from the ground up around two core ideas: durable memory and agents as first-class participants.
Responsibilities
- Rather than training larger general-purpose models, we want to explore how systems can learn from a specific organization over time; developing memory, adapting to context, and becoming increasingly useful as they participate in work.
- The team's work will span theory, experimentation, systems design, and research publication. Initial work will be performed primarily on offline workspace data before transitioning into production systems used by every Ando customer.
Requirements
- Strong technical communication: you can explain complex ideas simply and engage in high-bandwidth, generative technical conversation
- Bonus: Familiarity with Cartridges https://arxiv.org/abs/2506.06266, work around memory for multi-party, long-running use cases, or other relevant research
