About the role
- This is routine part-time work assisting with a variety of duties in the Sheriff's Office Vehicle Maintenance Garage.
- Will work under the guidance of the Fleet Service Coordinator to do minor vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, lubrications, changing tires, replacing brakes, etc.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Must be 18 years of age or older. High school graduation or equivalent plus two years experience working in an automotive garage setting. Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record is required. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to perform varied maintenance tasks. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Nice to have
- Work also includes parts runner, squad pickup and delivery for service plus other related errand duties.
- High school graduation or equivalent plus two years experience working in an automotive garage setting.
Skills
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools used in servicing of vehicles.
- Skills in the use of tools and equipment in servicing vehicles.
- Aptitude for mechanical work and manual work.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
Compensation
- Starting hourly rate: $24.13
Benefits
- This is a 60% FTE position eligible for partial benefits including participation in Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) and prorated Paid Time Off and Holidays.
