About the role

  • Position: Warehouse Equipment Operator - Part Time Seasonal
  • $16.50 per hour (+$1.50 Shift Differential for hours worked after 2:00 PM)
  • Scholastic Book Fairs are wondrous in-person experiences that empower kids to discover books for themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and prioritizes work to manage time effectively and accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with drug and alcohol-free policy.
  • We're here to deliver an experience that inspires kids toward greatness.
  • We are currently in search of Part Time Seasonal Equipment Operators to help our facilities build book fairs for schools.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Strong team player and the ability to get along with co-workers.
  • Basic experience and familiarity with the fundamental capabilities of computers and communications systems.
  • Must be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 30 lbs. to a height of 78" on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and effectiveness in functions of PEO - Level I, including inventory movements, cycle counts, perform daily equipment inspections, and asset storage.
  • Consistently meet minimum required production, accuracy, and quality standards for all work performed.

  • Certified to operate battery/gas-powered equipment including but not limited to forklifts, stock pickers, wave trucks, counterbalanced lifts, reach trucks, pallet jack and scissor lifts.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read documents in English, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

Nice to have

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.

Compensation

  • $16.50 per hour (+$1.50 Shift Differential for hours worked after 2:00 PM)
