About the role
- This role provides direct oversight of field personnel, subcontractors, and daily construction activities while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day field construction activities on an assigned project site, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and quality standards.
- lead daily toolbox talks and safety meetings, conduct hazard assessments, ensure OSHA compliance, and respond immediately to incidents or near-misses.
- Maintain accurate daily field reports, document site conditions, track labor and equipment, and communicate status updates to the project team.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive field construction experience, with at least 2 years in a superintendent or lead foreman capacity overseeing field crews on active construction projects.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, structural plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- additional safety certifications (First Aid/CPR, Competent Person, Rigging) strongly preferred.
- Microsoft application fluency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with FRP, composite materials, or specialty structural installation in industrial or mission-critical environments.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project for scheduling and field reporting.
- Experience managing work within active industrial facilities, including compliance with owner safety programs and permitting requirements (hot work, confined space, LOTO, etc.).
- Physical demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively through speaking and hearing.
- This role is physically active and requires the ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
