About the role
- Provides specialized property and casualty underwriting consultation to Amerisure's underwriting teams, ensuring alignment with underwriting strategy, profitability, and premium goals.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to enhance underwriting quality within the field, collaborating with internal partners to create and implement training and development initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in underwriting training programs, contributing to the design, development, and execution of training sessions for underwriters.
- Collaborate with industry practices, product development, and risk management teams in the creation and enhancement of new products, forms, and services.
- Collaborate with corporate underwriting team to assess business needs, providing recommendations for enhancements to underwriting controls, risk appetite, and underwriting tools to support the organization's growth and profitability objectives.
- As needed, manage a designated book of business, ensuring underwriting decisions align with company strategy and profitability goals.
- Evaluate and secure facultative reinsurance as needed to mitigate risk and maintain the financial integrity of the organization.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work-related experience
- 5 years commercial property and casualty underwriting experience.
- Must have Construction underwriting expertise.
- Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Travel required up to 10%
