About the role

  • This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the Perforce environment through proactive management, advanced automation, and deep collaboration with software development and tools engineering teams.
  • Performance Management: Proactively monitor system resource utilization and performance metrics to identify and resolve architectural bottlenecks before they impact production.
  • Technical Leadership: Serves as a primary technical resource for source control, influencing best practices across the DevTools function.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, and optimize Perforce Helix Core infrastructure to ensure high availability, peak performance, and enterprise-grade security.
  • Oversee complex server configurations, triggers, permissions, and multi-tool integrations to support global development workflows.
  • Architect and implement industry best practices for system reliability, data integrity, comprehensive backup strategies, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Act as the subject matter expert providing high-level support, troubleshooting, and specialized training for development teams utilizing Perforce.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated documentation regarding system architecture, operational procedures, and evolving technical processes.
  • Drive efficiency by automating routine administrative tasks and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) repositories for version control environments.
  • The Senior Systems Engineer is a high-level individual contributor specializing in Perforce Helix Core to support, enhance, and optimize critical source control infrastructure.
  • The Senior Systems Engineer balances complex operational requirements with long-term strategic projects, providing technical leadership and clear communication across multiple global teams to drive continuous infrastructure improvement.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Maintain, monitor, and optimize Perforce Helix Core infrastructure to ensure high availability, peak performance, and enterprise-grade security.
  • System Administration: Oversee complex server configurations, triggers, permissions, and multi-tool integrations to support global development workflows.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a systems engineer
  • Strong ability to communicate technical insights and architectural solutions to diverse stakeholders.

  • The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $108,900 and $161,160 per Year.
