About the role
- Our mobile platform is becoming a core part of the expert experience-from discovering projects and completing onboarding to collaborating with AI-powered workflows.
- You'll join a small, high-ownership engineering team where you'll influence architecture, establish engineering best practices, mentor engineers as the team grows, and shape the long-term mobile strategy for Expert Experience Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and development of Mercor's native Android application.
- Design, build, and ship high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Own major product initiatives end-to-end-from technical strategy and architecture through production launch.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, AI, Backend, and Infrastructure teams to deliver customer-facing experiences.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, observability, and long-term maintainability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Android software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Experience shipping and maintaining production Android applications through the Google Play Store.
- Strong understanding of modern Android architecture, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across a team.
