About the role

  • Xylem seeks to hire a Manufacturing Engineering Process Improvement Technician Intern.
  • The engineer will be responsible for engaging with staff, test equipment, software, drawings, and procedures needed to transition processes to a standard format.
  • Interface with off and onsite R&D, operations, quality, and other manufacturing engineers to determine product needs and operation constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Read and translate mechanical drawings for designs
  • Create processes and test plans to a standard YSI format from existing drawings and procedures
  • Manage label design, documentation and implementation

  • Working knowledge of computers and networking desirable.
  • Ability to pick-up equipment, tools and supplies that weigh up to 25 pounds.

Skills

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An individual currently enrolled in a post-secondary University diploma program in Engineering Discipline, Mechanical/Industrial preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Evaluate fixtures, equipment, tools and work with Manufacturing ENG for improvements and/or replacements
  • Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
