About the role

Responsibilities
- Career Development in the Kogod School of Business at American University provides career support to undergraduate and graduate business students.
- Our Grad Career Consultants will support students with resume reviews and help educate classmates on the resources available to them through the office, support us in data and analysis as well as represent the office to students, employers, prospective students, faculty members, and staff, as well as providing important communication regarding events and professionalism to peers.
- These positions are paid, and hiring preference is given to students who have strong professional experience in addition to experience developing and growing a social media presence.
- Exceptional written communication skills including editing/reviewing documents and providing feedback to peers.
- Applicants should possess a strong interest in developing knowledge of career-related topics.

Nice to have
- First-year and second-year MBA students.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to include being professionally savvy and navigating employment conversations.
- Interest or ability to work with data and analytics, PowerBI and Excel skills preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Project management experience a plus.
- Maturity and an elevated level of professionalism, especially as it relates to peer feedback, social media campaigns, and interacting with employers, faculty, and staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
Skills
- This position is available only to enrolled American University students.
- Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions.
- FWS funds cannot be applied to janitorial, construction, partisan or sectarian positions.

Compensation
- $20.00 per hour.
