About the role
- Prepare and review revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses with clear audit trails.
- Monitor and interpret new accounting guidance (FASB, SEC) and assess impact on revenue policies.
- Prepare accurate, executive-ready revenue reporting packages and variance analyses for finance management.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the monthly revenue close process, including contracts review, SSP analysis, contract modifications, multi-element arrangement accounting, and revenue disclosure under ASC 606.
- Partner with DealOps on contract review to assess revenue recognition implications prior to execution.
- Maintain and enforce a strong internal controls environment over revenue - document SOX-ready policies, procedures, and control narratives.
- Lead coordination with external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits; own PBC schedules and audit support for all revenue-related requests.
- Identify and drive improvements to the revenue close process and routine tasks - reduce cycle time, eliminate manual work, and build scalable workflows.
- Own revenue system integrity; work with Business System to ensure contracts and revenue data flows accurately into the GL (NetSuite or equivalent).
- Mentor and develop junior team members; set clear standards for work quality and documentation

Requirements
- You bring experience across both private and public company environments and are comfortable owning processes end-to-end while partnering cross-functionally with DealOps, Business System, FP&A, Legal, and Product.
- You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment.
Nice to have
- Big 4 public accounting background with technology sector clients.
- Experience through an IPO, M&A transaction, or significant systems implementation.
- Familiarity with revenue automation tools (Zuora Revenue, RevPro, or NetSuite ARM).
- Exposure to usage-based / consumption based models.
- What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
- Close ownership fully transitioned - you are driving the revenue close independently by Month 2.
- At least two material process improvements shipped and documented by Month 6.
- Controls documentation updated to audit-ready standard
