  • Job Description Great Basin College (GBC) is recruiting for a full-time faculty to teach courses in Industrial Maintenance (Millwright/Fixed Maintenance).
  • This position is based at the Elko campus, beginning July 1st, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach classes in all aspects of Millwright Technology.
  • Interact with mining and industry partners to enhance community partnerships.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching and program support.

  • Direct and assess students' progress in achieving required competencies.
  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Millwright Technology or related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of an Associate degree.
  • Experience in career and technical education strongly preferred.
  • Experience in alternative educational delivery methods or willingness to learn alternative delivery methodology.
  • Willingness and ability to travel by car throughout the large GBC service area as needed to campus and industry locations, with or without accommodations as per the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution in Millwright Technology or related field.
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of an Associate degree.
  • Five (5) years of experience in mining-related fixed equipment repair & maintenance is required.
  • Ability to work as a team member with a genuine spirit of cooperation and flexibility.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office products.
  • Evidence of ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Prefer post-secondary teaching experience.

Compensation

  • Generous annual and sick leave with 24 annual leave days, a beginning balance of 30 sick leave days.
  • The budgeted salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000
  • Salary is based on relatable education and experience, internal equity and budgets.
  • All permanent employees on an annual "A" or "B" contract who are employed at least 50% full-time are eligible to participate in the NSHE retirement program unless they are members of PERS of Nevada.
