About the role
- The Boathouse Dock hand is responsible for assisting with all boathouse services offered, quality control, and cash handling procedures
- National Harbor Boathouse, managed by Guest Services, Inc., is now hiring seasonal dock hands for the 2026 season.
- The season runs from May through September and we are open 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cash register and contents within.
- Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for the entire work day.
- The dock hand position is part-time and all staff are required to work at least one day a weekend as well as the summer holidays.
Nice to have
- Maintaining a safe environment at the boating area, following appropriate procedures and guidelines.
- Boathouse maintenance such as cleaning, weeding, removing trash, organizing, and ordering supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests, while directing customer issues to supervisor or unit manager.
- Provide First Aid & CPR to guests if needed
- Identify items and corresponding cost of items and tabulate bills using cash register, calculator, or other price equipment.
- Any other duties required or requested by your Supervisor or Manager.
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- Strong customer service abilities
Compensation
- 17.95 USD Hourly
