About the role

The Machinist II will be primarily responsible for operating manual lathe and mill machines to produce high-precision aerospace components.
This role involves performing advanced equipment setup and maintenance, using precision measurement tools, fabricating fixtures, and adhering to shop safety and best practices.
The Machinist II will also play a key role in process improvement and troubleshooting machining issues.

Additionally, you will follow 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness protocols, collaborate with team members to improve processes and achieve production goals.
You will maintain accurate records of machining operations and part inspections, troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.

Typically 2+ years of related experience.
Basic proficiency with manual mill and manual lathe machines.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Certification: Machinist certification or related certification.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
Familiar with CNC programming such as G and M-code.
Basic understanding of CAD/CAM software for designing and programming CNC operations.
Knowledge of material and machining characteristics of aerospace-grade alloys.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.
Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control methodologies.
