About the role
- This role is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of engineering experience in a plant or production environment who are eager to apply engineering principles to real-world manufacturing challenges.
Responsibilities
- Conduct or assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Support the introduction of new products or equipment into the production line, including trials and validation.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and support kaizen events to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure smooth and safe production operations.
- Gather and analyze production data to support decision-making and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support training efforts for operators and technicians on new processes or equipment.
- The Production Engineer I will support daily manufacturing operations by optimizing production processes, improving quality and efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- The Production Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production goals are met safely, cost-effectively and on schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment (internships and co-ops included).
- Must be able to perform the following over the course of up to 12 hours per day
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on aptitude in a production setting.
- Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly and concisely. Experienced with JMP, Minitab is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to properly and regularly utilize the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours
- Lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds on occasion.

- Sit and/or stand for lengthy periods
Nice to have
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and concepts (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) is a plus.
- Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly and concisely.
- Experienced with JMP, Minitab is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- experience with CAD or production management systems is a plus.
