- Position Overview The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing, evaluating, and reporting technical laboratory procedures on patient specimens to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Responsibilities
- Maintain quality control, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Utilize and manage laboratory resources effectively, including productivity tools, supplies, instruments, and equipment.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of lab procedures, instrumentation, and laboratory information systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Organizational skills and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Education & Experience
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a natural science discipline.
- Credential/Licensure
- Current Tennessee licensure as a Medical Technologist (or Special Analyst) required if employed in Tennessee.
- Must operate within the scope of licensure.
- Skills & Abilities
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving medium work, including handling up to 50 lbs., and visual acuity to perform detailed work.
