About the role

  • Job Description A mid-level vehicle technician provides a high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles.
  • The technician may work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs some more complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and some fabrication.
  • Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine, and drive line components, etc.
  • May maintain/repair equipment. (cable trailers, laptop docking stations, etc.)
  • Keep shop area clean and tidy. Perform work in accordance with safety standards. Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations.
  • Create and maintains vehicle history and maintenance records. May up fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
  • Provides custom equipment when needed by engaging in equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks including welding.
  • May perform roadside assistance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Nice to have

  • 3-5 years of vehicle service and repair experience
  • 1 year of customer service experience preferred.

Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required.
  • 3-5 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Must be able to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
  • Must continue training to meet with technology and automotive changes as they occur.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb

Compensation

  • Hourly base pay rate is $22.02 - $33.08/hour.
  • The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
