Responsibilities

  • The Cardiac Rehab Nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individualized care in a patient care area according to departmental policies and procedures and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Completes nursing assessment of patient, and documents appropriately into patient record.
  • Develops a plan of care based upon the assessment of patient, age appropriate and developmental needs of the patient.
  • Initiates, manages, and participates in discharge planning.
  • Initiates, manages, and participates in patient/family teaching.
  • Maintains professional standards by participating in inservices, committees, and performance improvement activities, etc.

Requirements

  • Must have successfully completed SVMH Pharmacology test.
  • Substantial knowledge of: Cardiac Risk Factors and Treatment and current principles, theories and practices related to Cardiac Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention of CAD.
  • Must have at least one (1) year experience in CCU or post-intervention PCI or CABG care.
  • Candidates selected for hire will be required to successfully complete a Pharmacology and EKG Test.
  • May be required to work on other nursing units according to distribution of staff and patients.

Nice to have

  • Associates of Science in nursing (ASN) required, BSN preferred.

Compensation

  • The hourly rate for this position is $89.37 - $103.45. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
