Responsibilities
- Software Development & Architecture: Design, implement, and support new feature development using Java and Kotlin, utilizing proof-of-concepts and prototypes to validate technical directions.
- AOSP Leadership: Lead the implementation of system-level components, including headless services, APIs, AIDLs, HAL, and HIDL.
- Technical Mentorship: Lead a small team of junior developers, providing guidance, conducting design reviews, and performing constructive code reviews.
- Agile Collaboration: Work within an integrated team of developers and test engineers to investigate design options and deliver features that meet precise customer requirements.
- Innovation: Explore AI tools for software development and implement MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and tools to improve engineering efficiency.
- 3+ years in a technical leadership or team lead capacity.
- CS Fundamentals: Strong grasp of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
Requirements
- Experience in the automotive industry is mandatory
- Proficiency with gtest, gmock, Robolectric, and Mockito.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience implementing MCP servers and tools.
- Direct experience with the AOSP level (Services, HAL, HIDL, AIDL).
- Experience with Multimedia and/or USB stacks on Android.
- Testing Frameworks: Proficiency with gtest, gmock, Robolectric, and Mockito.
Skills
- Strong command of ADB, xTS (diagnosing issues reported by xTS), and streaming technologies (Bluetooth/USB).
- Investigate, debug, and resolve complex bugs, race conditions, and bottlenecks using advanced tools like gdb and static analysis.
