About the role

Incumbents in this job classification are responsible for providing immigration advising services and new student orientation to meet the needs of the international student population.
Incumbents work independently with decisions impacting students' educational goals.

ISSS provides comprehensive immigration support for students and scholars at the University of Mississippi.
Provides specialized student support to international students and international study abroad students.
Create, update, and maintain accurate SEVIS records and immigration documents.
Support university compliance with federal student reporting requirements.
Develop and maintain immigration-focused student communications.
Collaborate with campus offices as necessary for immigration compliance.

The International Advisor problem solves a variety of complex immigration issues requiring considerable knowledge of immigration rules and regulations.
No prior immigration advising experience is required.

Advise students on immigration regulations, institutional procedures, and maintenance of lawful status.
