About the role
- In this role, you'll operate safely in high-voltage environments without direct supervision, help guide junior technicians on-site, and follow a clear, defined development pathway with advancement to Technician Level 3.
- Pay: $60,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example in promoting a safe working culture in the field.
- Help develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for assigned sites.
- Create and maintain detailed, accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs with minimal oversight.
- Prepare clear technical reports and actionable equipment recommendations for the Team Lead.
- Perform comprehensive electrical and mechanical inspections of solar energy systems.
- Assist team members and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Be able to drive a vehicle confidently and with a high degree of safety.
- In jurisdictions with licensing requirements, electrical work must be performed by or under the supervision of a licensed electrician authorized to perform such work.
- Candidates must be able to comply with all applicable permitting, inspection, and code requirements.
- Safely perform approved hazardous electrical energy control procedures and select the exact PPE required for each task.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical systems, solar energy principles, and grid-tied systems.
- Familiar with using specialized diagnostic tools such as I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and Isolation testers.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) is preferred.
- Certifications:
- FAA Part 107 Certification (and familiarity operating drones for aerial thermographic purposes).
- OSHA 30-hour and NFPA 70e certifications are preferred.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation
- $60,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Tuition reimbursement up to $10,000 annually for approved educational programs.
- Lead by example in promoting a safe working culture in the field.
- Safely perform approved hazardous electrical energy control procedures and select the exact PPE required for each task.
- Participate in and actively critique Pre-Job Briefs and Job Safety Analysis (JSA); utilize personal LOTO as a worker, or act as the work leader when approved.
- Inspections & Preventative Maintenance
- Insurance: Company-provided Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance at one times your annual salary.
