About the role

  • If you take pride in quality repairs and want to work on a diverse fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks across multiple brands, join the Avis Budget Group team supporting Budget Truck operations.

Responsibilities

  • You will perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision.
  • You will work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers, applying your diesel and medium-duty expertise to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and support a positive customer experience.
  • On-the-job training to expand your automotive and diesel repair skills, including support toward ASE certifications

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment
  • At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year

Nice to have

  • Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment with moderate noise levels
  • Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and diesel repair
  • Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
