About the role
- The career level process engineer, able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision.
- Skilled in equipment and tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for Paint Shop operations.
- Creativity and initiative are a must as well as independent judgment.
Responsibilities
- THIS INCLUDES DIRECT COMPANY SPONSORSHIP, ENTRY OF GM AS THE IMMIGRATION EMPLOYER OF RECORD ON A GOVERNMENT FORM, AND ANY WORK AUTHORIZATION REQUIRING A WRITTEN SUBMISSION OR OTHER IMMIGRATION SUPPORT FROM THE COMPANY (e.g., H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, etc.).
- Work is performed with hourly employees, production and skilled trades, salaried employees, and 3rd party support organizations.

Requirements
- Minimum BS in Engineering or 5+ years in paint / automation
- 3-5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with emphasis on paint shop operations
- Must be comfortable supervising hourly employees
- Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required to manufacture high quality products
- Applicants in the recruitment process may be required, where applicable, to successfully complete a role-related assessment(s) and/or a pre-employment screening prior to beginning employment.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools suite and data visualization tools
- Understanding of Global Manufacturing System (GMS) and lean manufacturing
