About the role

  • The career level process engineer, able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision.
  • Skilled in equipment and tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for Paint Shop operations.
  • Creativity and initiative are a must as well as independent judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Work is performed with hourly employees, production and skilled trades, salaried employees, and 3rd party support organizations.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS in Engineering or 5+ years in paint / automation
  • 3-5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with emphasis on paint shop operations
  • Must be comfortable supervising hourly employees
  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required to manufacture high quality products
  • Applicants in the recruitment process may be required, where applicable, to successfully complete a role-related assessment(s) and/or a pre-employment screening prior to beginning employment.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools suite and data visualization tools
  • Understanding of Global Manufacturing System (GMS) and lean manufacturing

  • SORs and project management for tools, stations, or specific technologies
  • Willing and capable of learning new processes and skills
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
