About the role
- Support Program Manager on the following:
- - Point of contact with the customer for all issues.
Responsibilities
- Manage customer relationship
- Manage any Prime or Sub relationships that exist
- Manage program resources to ensure that all team members are fully utilized at all times
- Develop and maintain program resource forecast demands
- Manage contract administration, specifications, drawings, and regulatory requirements.
- Support labor estimates, material estimates, and make/buy reviews, etc.
- Coordinate with change management team to execute changes in support of program requirements
- Manage order placement, on-time delivery and performance from suppliers, quality assurance from suppliers
- Oversee design to ensure compliance with specification and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Estimating Business System initiative in response to RFP or RFQ requirements to ensure Basis of Estimates are in accordance with DFARs Cost Estimating System Requirements
Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience and training
- Proven record of military and commercial marine program management
- A sound knowledge of the marine construction industry
- Proven ability to set tasks for self and others
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, contract specifications, and major equipment specifications.
- 4 -year degree ( relating to engineering technologies preferred) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to listen to staff and customers and act appropriately
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to check own work
- Other Govt agencies and customers

- Position requires travel of up to 2 0% of the time
- Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility guidelines to be considered for employment with Austal USA:
- 18 years of age or older at time of application
- Able to provide proof of US Person Status
- No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
- No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
- Willing to submit to a drug screen
