About the role

  • This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual who will be primarily responsible for supporting the Office of the General Counsel in administering legal hold requests across the eDiscovery lifecycle.
  • The Specialist, Information Governance - eDiscovery & Compliance will work closely with the Information Governance team to identify, preserve and collect information subject to legal hold.
  • This position will require collaboration and coordination with Practice Technology, Information Technology, case teams and other internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong technical proficiency with an understanding of data formats, metadata, and document management systems.

Nice to have

  • Coordinate internal eDiscovery processes, with a focus on preservation efforts.
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal legal hold-related questions.
  • Coordinate legal hold processes, ensuring custodians are notified and appropriate actions are taken.
  • Update processes for the Firm's eDiscovery, legal, compliance, and business requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in eDiscovery.
  • Provide guidance across the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) lifecycle, including automation of legal hold processes.
  • In collaboration with the Sr.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Skills

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in eDiscovery, with a strong understanding of the entire EDRM lifecycle.
  • Prior experience implementing legal holds in Microsoft Purview eDiscovery.
  • Familiarity with other eDiscovery and legal hold software tools (e.g. Relativity, Encase, Exterro).
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data storage, and chain of custody standard methodologies.
  • Knowledge of search term analysis and search term reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential and sensitive data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Rigorous organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to confront unexpected problems quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while using sound judgment, initiative, and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with individuals of all levels.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Compensation

  • NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 at the time of posting.
  • This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
