About the role

  • The Welder Technician IV is responsible for performing expert-level welding tasks in a variety of repair and fabrication work in mechanical and fluid systems in preparation for launch operations.
  • This role involves aligning and welding components of metal tools, wires, fixtures, and other metal products.
  • These systems include structural, hydraulic, zirconium, stainless steel, and other components.

Requirements

  • Typically 8+ years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with general best shop practices including PPE and shop safety requirements.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools and fabricate fixtures for use including non-flight parts with standard alloys and complex geometry.
  • Ability to follow correct packaging and handling requirements for all hardware.
  • To conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

Nice to have

  • Strong mathematical, basic computer, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert understanding of welding techniques and processes, including MIG, TIG, and Orbital arc welding.
  • Previous experience in an aerospace manufacturing or welding environment.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.

  • Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
