About the role
- Our team of specialists works together to guide each patient through every step of the cancer experience-from diagnosis through survivorship.
- Position Overview The Oncology Nurse Navigator serves as a dedicated care coordinator throughout the cancer care continuum.
- ONNs provide education, improve access, and streamline communication to ensure a supportive, seamless experience for patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of patient progress and clinical outcomes
- Collaborate with oncologists, specialists, and support teams to enhance patient experience and outcomes
- Perform RN scope duties, including telephone triage and clinical assessments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (required)
- At least 1 year of nursing experience (required)
- Current RN license in the state of practice or compact license (required)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required)
- OCN certification required within two (2) years of hire
- Strong knowledge of oncology practices and patient navigation
- Proficiency with electronic documentation and EMR systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with strong attention to detail
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)
- Outpatient nursing and scheduling experience (preferred)
