You will be involved in existing buildings that are energy-intensive and complex, designed in a time when energy was inexpensive.
Here, you won't be given a step-by-step manual- instead, you'll be told what the building needs to achieve, and you'll have the freedom, resources, and tools to determine how to get there.
Act as the single point of ownership for assigned projects, leading both project and design management
Serve as lead engineer, managing project timelines, workstreams, budgets, and mentor junior team members while ensuring effective collaboration with MEP firms and client stakeholders
Review and enhance MEP drawings and designs to optimize system performance and reduce project cost
Gather and analyze client energy bills to identify potential energy savings based on current energy rates and the building's energy use intensity (EUI)
Analyze mechanical/ electrical/ control drawings and perform site surveys to understand the operation of the building
Develop energy conservation measures based on clients' needs and financial parameters
Develop and perform calculations using a combination of software and simulations of potential energy savings from the proposed design
Prepare project construction budgets and develop financial models

Select equipment based on energy performance
Provide technical assistance to the Construction Manager during the construction phase of the project
Monitor project performance to ensure attainment of anticipated energy savings
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Physics Engineering
5-10 years of experience in design engineering or mechanical systems design, ideally within heavy Mechanical & HVAC projects
Strong ability to translate theoretical expertise and technical knowledge into innovative, practical solutions through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Skilled in drafting technical reports, presenting proposals, and engaging directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory compliance requirements

Annual base salary, approximately $100,000 – $140,000, based on location and experience, with annual reviews to stay market-competitive US
