About the role
- The Academy also offers full-time employees an opportunity to take one undergraduate course tuition free each semester.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary community builder within the residence halls, creating opportunities for students to develop meaningful connections with peers, faculty, staff, and the university community.
- Collaborate with Campus Life, Student Affairs, student organizations, and academic departments to promote participation in campus programs, traditions, leadership opportunities, and co curricular experiences.
- Advise and support residence hall leadership groups, community councils, and student committees to encourage student ownership, responsibility, and leadership development.
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout the residence halls and campus community, fostering positive relationships with students and serving as a trusted resource.
- Identify students experiencing academic, personal, social, or financial challenges and connect them with appropriate campus resources to support persistence and success.
- Residence Hall Operations & Student Support
- Create and maintain housing reports, occupancy records, room condition assessments, damage billing records, building inventories, and key control systems.
- Evaluate maintenance and housekeeping concerns and work collaboratively with facilities personnel to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with housekeeping, maintenance, public safety, and other campus departments.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of university services, programs, policies, and community resources and provide referrals as appropriate.
Requirements
- Must be a positive and engaging individual, who enjoys supporting students.
- Experience creating a supportive and safe environment for students living in student housing.
- Ability to reside on a full-time basis in Academy housing accommodations.
- Two years of experience in student housing or residence life are required
- Strong desire to support, coach, mentor and encourage students.
- Proven track record of displaying strong commitment to student learning and have the proven ability to effectively work with diverse populations.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in student affairs, higher education administration, education, or a related field preferred.

Compensation
- $70,304.00 annually, PLUS employee housing on a no charge basis.
- The no cost housing provided by the Academy serves as additional compensation above the paid salary to the limit of the California Public Housekeeping Wage Order allowed valuation of employee housing

- Participate in the Residential community coordinator on Call rotation, which may require evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency response responsibilities.
