About the role

  • In addition to the organization wide PCT duties, the NICU PCT is trained in assisting with sterile procedures such as placement of PICC lines, securement of IV's, assisting with lab draws and preparation of infant feedings.
  • Additionally, the NICU PCT's receive special training to go to the helipad to assist our NICU Transport Team.
  • They ensure admission rooms are ready and do general stocking to assist and meet the needs of the team.

  • Delivers care guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring illustrated by creating caring relationships, taking time to have uninterrupted moments with patients and displaying unconditional acceptance and respect.
  • Promotes a mutually respectful environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and supports the effectiveness of professional relationships and integrates ethics in all aspects of practice.
  • Mentors PCT's s new to their role for the purpose of ensuring successful enculturation, orientation, competence, and emotional support. Supports students to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Required for All Jobs

Nice to have

  • Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience in an office or clinic setting.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable of and follows proper technique for patient care. (Required proficiency)
  • Communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate staff in a timely manner. (Required proficiency)
  • Functions with an awareness and application of safety issues as identified within the institution. (Required proficiency)
  • Participates actively in educational activities for department. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrates competency in selected psychomotor skills. (Required proficiency)
  • First Responder
  • RQI Required within 90 days.

Compensation

  • Abide by Stormont Vail's Remote Worker Policy and will review and acknowledge the Remote Work Agreement annually.
