About the role

  • We can do in seconds what takes our competitors weeks, which is why we're trusted by many of today's fastest growing startups.
  • By rebuilding accounting from the ground up, we enable business decisions to be made with timely, complete, and explainable financial information.
  • Many of today's fastest-growing startups, including Decagon, Braintrust, Browserbase, and Mintlify, rely on Quanta as their financial foundation.

Responsibilities

  • You will build interfaces where:
  • You will work directly with our in-house accountants and our product designer. We care about clean, thoughtful design. Delight is welcome, but never at the expense of clarity or traceability. The interface must mirror financial reasoning.
  • Evolve the design system into something consistent and extensible.
  • We care about clean, thoughtful design.
  • The goal is to build a frontend system that scales without losing coherence.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of frontend engineering experience, including ownership of architecture or shared standards
  • Deep experience in React and TypeScript in complex product environments
  • A track record of raising engineering standards, not just shipping features
  • Comfort working in a dense, data-heavy domain
  • You are uncomfortable engaging deeply with data models and domain logic.

Skills

  • Establish clear patterns for components, state management, and data access.
  • Refactor early implementations into durable abstractions.
  • Define contracts between frontend and backend systems so financial logic is represented faithfully.

Compensation

  • Competitive early-stage salary ($205K-265K)

Benefits

  • Competitive early-stage equity
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Commuter benefits
  • Wellness stipend
  • Take-what-you-need paid vacation

  • We are a tight-knit team of 17, working 4 days in-person in downtown San Francisco.
  • Our backgrounds sit at the intersection of finance and engineering.
  • As a group, we have built accounting systems at Affirm, ledgers at Stripe and Robinhood, and companies from the ground up.
  • We have passed CPA exams, built finance teams from one to dozens, shipped 0→1 products, and scaled systems that support billions in transactions.
  • We understand our customers because we have been in their shoes.
  • We care deeply about correctness, trust, and building systems that last.
  • We are opinionated about the future of finance and committed to building it together.
  • We are defining the Operational Ledger, a new financial foundation for how businesses truly understand themselves.
  • If you want to work on deep, consequential systems, financial data is one of the hardest places to do it well.
  • Finance sits at the center of every business, yet most software makes it difficult to see how numbers are constructed or why they can be trusted.
  • Accounting is the foundation.
  • The goal is a live, queryable financial system businesses can reason from.
  • By running the day-to-day accounting workflows alongside our customers, we turn messy, judgment-heavy financial data into a reliable, queryable system of record.
  • Our backend systems establish correctness.
  • The frontend must establish proof.
  • In accounting, trust comes from traceability.
  • When someone sees a number in Quanta, they should be able to drill into it, follow it to the underlying transactions, and understand how it was produced.
  • If they cannot do that, the system does not matter.
  • As we scale engineering output, including agentic tools that generate code, frontend coherence becomes a systems problem.
  • The interface has to remain consistent, explainable, and structurally aligned with the ledger beneath it.
  • We are hiring a Staff Frontend Engineer to define how that system is built.
