About the role
- Executes assumed reinsurance catastrophe risk management tasks and projects in conjunction with related team members in the reinsurance division.
- With team, propose solutions to business questions and monitor progress of projects.
- You will report to the Head of Reinsurance Pricing & Analytics, AmFamRe.
Responsibilities
- Performs assumed reinsurance catastrophe modeling analyses using catastrophe modeling software for the assessment of data input, model set-up, model execution, result extraction and loss analytics.
- Develops analytical tools, reports, and data to understand the impacts of natural disasters to the division's business, including applying a variety of geospatial analysis techniques to analysis projects.
- Partners with fellow assumed reinsurance catastrophe risk management team members to provide catastrophe related insights and recommendation.
- Participates in the selection of research tools and technologies, design of a common research process, and brainstorming new opportunities and methodologies.
- Proactively brings in new and innovative ideas and approaches to develop business. May be requested to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.
- Supports live catastrophe event response with exposure summaries and loss estimates.
- Will lead and design projects and solutions to solve assumed reinsurance catastrophe risk business problems.
Requirements
- Solid experience with catastrophe management software and catastrophe peril models.
- Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis.
Compensation
- $99,000.00 - $167,000.00
- may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.
- Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.
