About the role
- Ongoing inspection of work at specific stop/inspection points during the construction
- Ensure that construction follows and meets BC Hydro's/Owner specifications and standards by scheduling daily site visits during the construction phase of the project
- Monitor that the contractor's underground plan adheres to the related safety standards
Responsibilities
- Constructability review support on routine and non-routine, standard and non-standard civil designs in various stages of planning to implementation for internally and externally designed civil projects

Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Civil Inspector or equivalent civil inspector experience in the utility industry
- Completion of Power Supply Safety Program (PSSP) course within eight months of hire, and responsible for completion of PSSP re-certification training every 2 years as required by BC Hydro.
- Strong working knowledge of desktop productivity applications such as Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent
- Ability to interpret specifications, standards, and drawings
Nice to have
- Previous experience in civil construction inspection or surveying preferred
