About the role
- The Emergency Staff RN assumes responsibility and accountability for patient care in the Emergency Department, utilizing the nursing process for a designated time frame.
- Provides care of these patients according to Marshall's standard of practice.
- Functions as the patient's advocate at all times.
Responsibilities
- Maintains good public relations by interacting with patients, visitors, physicians, and other staff members in a friendly and professional manner.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification strongly preferred within 6 months of hire
Nice to have
- Current California Registered Nursing (RN) license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) strongly preferred within 2 years of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Courses (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire
- 2 years RN experience required.
- ER experience preferred.
- Per Diem status positions, 2+ years Emergency department experience is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with EPIC.
- Must have basic computer skills.
