About the role

  • Our Subscription Growth team maintains critical integrations with the Apple and Android app stores and Stripe to provide a seamless paid subscriber onboarding experience.
  • They prioritize platform stability and quality and are currently focused on building growth-driving features on top of these robust platforms.
  • Essential Duties:

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Product and Design, leveraging a variety of qualitative and quantitative tools to explore Growth solutions across our mobile and web apps
  • Experience developing high-trust engineering teams through mentorship and coaching: you set clear goals, context, and decision-making frameworks while empowering engineers to own technical execution and tradeoff discussions
  • Knowledge of common patterns and software engineering and best practices: you've worked with high-traffic mobile applications and know how to build for scale, balancing speed, quality, and safety
  • Be Kind and Care - build with empathy; assume positive intent; support teammates and members.
  • As a member of our MyFitnessPal Engineering team, you'll lead a cross-functional team of backend and iOS engineers focused on outcomes over outputs, using data and experimentation to drive MFP's product strategy.

Requirements

  • Strong technical and product judgment: you can frame engineering investments as business outcomes and bring that perspective into cross-functional planning and roadmap discussions
  • 4+ years experience leading engineering teams in close partnership with Product and Design, working iteratively with a deep focus on customer outcomes
  • Strong analytical focus and comfort working through tricky A/B testing and data attribution challenges, ideally in a Growth domain
  • Experience building highly available third-party integrations that process high-volume data, ideally in a subscription domain
  • Experience leading consumer-facing development work focused on native apps using iterative, learning-focused agile methodologies

Compensation

  • The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $140,000 - $210,000.
