Responsibilities
- Performs the role of GI endoscopy technician on all interventional endoscopy, as well as on all general endoscopy cases.
Requirements
- One year acute care experience with minimum nine months experience working in acute care GI endoscopy unit.
- Knowledge and Skills: Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
- Possesses advanced knowledge of aspects of interventional GI endoscopy procedures including ERCP, EUS, enteral stenting, and endoscopic mucosal resection, and ablation of Barretts esophagus.
- Anticipates the need of the interventional endoscopist, using knowledge of endoscopic procedures, which includes passing instruments and other items appropriate to the procedure.
Skills
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
- Proficiency in handling specific equipment and accessories used in interventional GI endoscopy procedures.
- Proficiency in improving room turnover time
- Special Training:6 months training in interventional endoscopy.
- On the job training with related healthcare experience specifically in interventional GI endoscopy.

- Does this position formally supervise employees?
- Restocks assigned endoscopy room with designated supplies. Completes all assigned tasks in an organized and thorough manner.
- Transports specimens as directed. Disposes of trash and linen, exercising universal precautions.
- Occasional physical demands include: Sitting, Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), Keyboard use/repetitive motion
