Compensation

  • Carta's compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans.
  • Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:
  • $126,000 - 157,600 CAD in Toronto

  • You'll be joining our Carta Law team, specifically within the Contracts - North Americas function.
  • Our Contracts team manages the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for clients - from first review through to execution.
  • You'll be the direct day-to-day contact for sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients, working alongside fellow lawyers and paralegals.

  • As a Contract Solutions Counsel on the Contracts team, you'll work to:
  • Negotiate and manage high volumes of pre-M&A contracts - including NDAs, confidentiality agreements, NRLs, joinders, and engagement letters - directly liaising with counterparties and adhering to agreed turnaround times
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, building trusted advisor relationships with sophisticated investment funds and asset managers
  • Maintain and update client playbooks on an ongoing basis, ensuring consistency and quality across all contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals, reviewing their work and contributing to a high-performing team culture
