Compensation
- Carta's compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans.
- Our expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:
- $126,000 - 157,600 CAD in Toronto

- You'll Work With
- You'll be joining our Carta Law team, specifically within the Contracts - North Americas function.
- Our Contracts team manages the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for clients - from first review through to execution.
- You'll be the direct day-to-day contact for sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients, working alongside fellow lawyers and paralegals.
- This team delivers high volumes of pre-M&A contract work at speed, supported by AI-backed tools including Carta's proprietary platform, Ava.

- As a Contract Solutions Counsel on the Contracts team, you'll work to:
- Negotiate and manage high volumes of pre-M&A contracts - including NDAs, confidentiality agreements, NRLs, joinders, and engagement letters - directly liaising with counterparties and adhering to agreed turnaround times
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, building trusted advisor relationships with sophisticated investment funds and asset managers
- Maintain and update client playbooks on an ongoing basis, ensuring consistency and quality across all contract negotiations
- Collaborate with and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals, reviewing their work and contributing to a high-performing team culture
