About the role
- We are seeking an experienced System Thermal-Hydraulics Analyst to support advanced nuclear system analysis and safety evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain system thermal-hydraulic models using RELAP5-3D code.
- Perform steady-state and transient analyses for nuclear systems, including normal operation, off-normal events, and accident scenarios.
- Interpret and document analytical results to support licensing, design decisions, and safety assessments.
- Collaborate with reactor designers, safety analysts, and experimental teams to support integrated system evaluations.

- The successful candidate will perform detailed system-level thermal-hydraulic modeling and contribute to analysis supporting reactor design, safety margins, and transient/accident behavior.
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven experience performing analyses with system thermal-hydraulic codes such as RELAP5 / RELAP5-3D, and/or TRACE.
- Strong understanding of single and two-phase flow, heat transfer, and nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulics.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex analysis tasks.
- Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810 and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting DOE, NRC, or national laboratory projects.
- Familiarity with model development best practices and QA requirements for safety-related analysis.
- Experience mentoring junior analysts.
