About the role
- Be one of the many friendly faces welcoming cruise passengers to Alaska's Capital City!
- With hospitality embedded into every aspect of this program, you will make sure visitors stay safe while also keeping Downtown Juneau's economic engine flowing.
- Includes your choice of weekly shifts (4 hours, 6 hours, or 8 hours), your choice of hours worked per week (12 hours, 16, hours, 20 hours, 30 hours, or 36 hours), and the ability to easily schedule time off for meetings/travel, etc.
Requirements

- Must be able to walk 1-3 miles/day and stand for 4-8 hours, depending on shift. -
- Ability to frequently lift and transport up to 35 lbs. (e.g., safety cones, signage). -
- COMPENSATION Successful candidates can expect competitive pay ($24+/hour DOE), paid training, staff development, attendance bonuses, spot awards, and a chance to make a difference in Juneau!
- Additionally, all Juneau Welcome Guards will be provided with access to the Alaska Department of Transportation's Public Facilities Flagger Training Class before beginning their initial shifts.
- Completion is required before starting work to ensure staff are well-versed in all required safety measures and procedural protocols.
- OUT OF STATE APPLICANTS An in-person interview will be required before an offer of employment can be made.
- Travel stipends/relocation assistance are not in the budget so any related expenses would be your responsibility and there is no guarantee of employment or available housing.
