About the role

  • This includes supporting the day-to-day operations of the furniture processes and monitoring progress of process improvement, resource identification and allocation.
  • Consolidate Continuous Improvement processes and ideas between each facility and streamline them towards one joint goal.
  • Assist Operations in the training of operators on new procedures, oversee all projects campus wide, assuring that they are meeting objectives and projected savings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and allocate resources within the department, including Engineering, Continuous Improvement and Time Study.
  • Support plant production of existing product lines with a focus on eliminating DTFs while identifying and implementing best lean practices improving the processes.
  • Establish, manage, and enforce the standard operating processes for all operations within the business.
  • Provide multiple levels of training for all department team members: lean training, quality training, team building, cross training, etc., assisting each team member in growing individually in preparation for further advancement.
  • Facilitate individuals or teams through a formal problem solving methodology and develop a prioritizing system for problem solving initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 8-10 years of relevant experience including 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent
  • Travel Required: Up to 10%
  • Often required to sit, repetitive hand motion (such as typing), hear, listen, talk, stand, walk and lift - up 20 pounds.
  • Seldom required to climb ladders, kneel, squat, crouch, balance, reach overhead, pull, push or lift - up to 50 pounds.

Compensation

  • Perform annual reviews for all immediate reports.
