About the role

Job Description: About the Department Seattle Pacific University's Mathematics and Data Science Program is housed in the Technology Division of the College of Business and Technology.
Our faculty view mathematics as a holistic endeavor-logical, beautiful, and useful-for majors and for the many students and departments we serve.
The Technology Division offers a B.S. in Data Science and minors in Mathematics and Data Analytics.

Maintain an active research and/or creative agenda, presenting and publishing as appropriate.
Other supporting documents when possible (e.g., a representative syllabus; copies of teaching evaluations; one or more recent publications)

Versatility to teach introductory courses across multiple areas of mathematics, statistics, data science, and computer science, and expertise to teach advanced undergraduate courses in at least one of these areas.
Expertise in issues of ethics in data science.
Required:
Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field (ABD considered).
Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.

Preferred:
Specialization in data science or statistics.

Assistant level salary starts at $76,500, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and assigned rank.
