About the role

  • Position Title HVAC Mechanic I Employee Type Regular Office/Department Facilities Work Environment Remote and hybrid positions are open to applicants based in states identified here: Work at Loyola | Loyola University Maryland.
  • Assists in the operation, service, and repair of pneumatic, electric, or electronic control systems on HVAC systems.
  • Including replacing filters, motors and control devices.

Responsibilities

  • The purpose of this position is to perform entry level duties installing, servicing and repairing a variety of residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) equipment.
  • Regulates and monitors air handling equipment, compressors, cooling tower fans and other related support equipment as prescribed by operating procedures.
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks on a variety of HVAC equipment.
  • Performs service tasks such as adding refrigerant, lubricating, adjusting and replacing compressors and expansion devices, repairing pumps, cleaning out cooling towers and repacking valve glands and pump seals.
  • Performs mechanical joining of piping by using industry methods such as soldering, brazing, and gas welding.
  • Performs insulation repairs to air duct systems.
  • Operates and maintains tools, power tools, and equipment of the trade or area where assigned.
  • Non essential: Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and complete employment eligibility verification by the first day of employment at Loyola University Maryland, as required by law (e.g., Form I-9).
  • Assists with snow/ice removal campus-wide as required and directed.
  • This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
