About the role
- This position provides direct supervision to custodial staff, oversees scheduling and staffing, coordinates training and performance management, and ensures compliance with cleaning, safety, and regulatory standards.
- This is a full-time, benefit eligible, position with a salary of $60,000.00, commensurate with experience.
- Oversees daily custodial operations by assigning work, monitoring productivity, conducting inspections, resolving staffing issues, and ensuring completion of cleaning and maintenance schedules.
Responsibilities
- Develops, directs, and monitors the implementation of cleaning standards, emergency planning and response, and staffing strategies across multiple work units.
- Provides leadership and guidance to custodial staff through regular communication, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support employee development and operational effectiveness.
- Identifies, develops, and facilitates unit staff training opportunities related to cleaning procedures, equipment operation, workplace safety, and customer service.
- Collaborates with campus departments, vendors, and stakeholders to coordinate custodial services, special event support, and facility-related needs.
- Leads efforts to track waste and recycling; and creates programs to enhance waste management practices.
Requirements
- 5 years of demonstrated management/leadership experience
- Experience in custodial or environmental services
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend, stand, walk, twist for extended periods of time.
- Letter of application addressing all required qualifications.
Nice to have
- High school diploma required
- Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in management, environmental sciences or related field
Compensation
- This is a full-time, benefit eligible, position with a salary of $60,000.00, commensurate with experience.
