About the role

  • The New York City Ballet Membership team is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible intern.
  • Under the guidance of a seasoned Membership team member, the individual in this position will gain practical work experience in the areas of development and donor relations.
  • Internship dates: September - December 2026

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain the Individual Giving team's brochure inventory in the theater lobby
  • Support the Membership and Patron Program teams with other administrative support as needed
  • Attend staff meetings and events whenever support is necessary

Requirements

  • Must have a high level of professionalism and strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program or have graduated from such a program within the past 12 months.
  • This internship will provide a great opportunity to experience how a Membership and Development department operate within a non-profit performing arts organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in Development and Arts Administration
  • Standard office attire is business casual and formal for special events.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a plus
  • Knowledge of NYCB a plus

Compensation

  • Learn how to correspond with donors over the phone, acting as an initial point of contact in Membership office, assisting with annual gift renewals and voicemail inquiries
  • Assist with proofing of annual donor welcome packet materials
