About the role
- The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) provides comprehensive healthcare services to individuals recovering from substance use disorders.
- This role emphasizes patient-centered care, harm reduction, and relapse prevention while promoting long-term wellness.
Responsibilities
- The APN collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based treatments, psychiatric care, and holistic recovery support.
- Competency in motivational interviewing and other behavioral interventions to support recovery.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass drug and nicotine test.
- Understanding of addiction as a chronic disease and ability to apply trauma-informed care principles.
- Expertise in prescribing, titrating, and monitoring medications used in addiction treatment.
- Knowledge of potential drug interactions, contraindications, and side effects.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing addiction treatment, including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and DEA guidelines.
- Passion for faith-based addiction recovery and alignment with the mission of Adult & Teen Challenge.
- Master's or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP) with board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the practicing state.
- DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- Experience in addiction medicine, mental health, or primary care preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Willingness to work evening or weekend shifts to accommodate patient needs.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile.

- Certification in Addiction Nursing (CARN-AP) preferred.
