About the role
- Our team consists of a talented group of individuals with expertise in web operations, systems administration and software engineering.
- Currently you will find us predominantly working in Golang, Ruby, and Scala, backed up by Terraform and Puppet for provisioning and configuration management.
- We also consider internal equity to help ensure fair and consistent pay practices across our teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve BigCommerce's Development Environment consisting of several containerized services
- Manage cloud hosted VMs in Google Cloud Platform
- Maintain up to date VMs
- Document technical architecture and user features
- Work and collaborate with a distributed teams across the world
- Contribute to project discovery, design, and implementation
Requirements
- At least 7 years experience as an Infrastructure or Software Engineer
- You're a trusted engineer who has completed either a comprehensive software engineering, CS, CE, SW, MIS or equivalent degree, or has relevant work experience
- Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible (we use Puppet)
- You write tested, maintainable code that you are proud of and you are committed to keeping code quality high
